Software Engineer Intern, Adobe

After Effects

  • Led the migration of a legacy After Effects subsystem to a modern architecture, delivering changes in JavaScript, TypeScript, and C++ across multiple repositories, with documentation for developers to follow.
  • Owned design and scoping end-to-end; ran architecture reviews with designers and PMs across the AE org to align on requirements, edge cases, and UX.
  • Presented the migration strategy and results to After Effects leadership (100+), securing the feedback and buy-in that shaped the final rollout.

  • Investigated vision-language models for counting the items in top-down grocery-cart images, toward checkout without barcodes or RFID.
  • Fine-tuned Qwen3-VL-2B-Instruct and compared it against zero-shot Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite and a YOLOv8m detector; YOLOv8m performed best at 1.466 MAE.
  • Co-authored the final paper — read it (pdf).

Software Engineer Intern, Adobe

After Effects

  • Engineered custom Cursor rules for ExtendScript, After Effects’ undocumented internal scripting language, reaching ~90% compile/run success on generated production scripts.
  • Built an MCP server connecting Cursor to After Effects, letting an in-app agent translate prompts into executable scripts in real time; presented org-wide to 100+ engineers.
  • Redesigned After Effects’ Preferences UI in C++ and shipped a new setting end-to-end (default synthetic footage length), now used by 100% of AE’s active users.

Purdue Data Mine × Pro Football Focus

  • Built a quarterback “throw difficulty” scoring model with XGBoost and regression on PFF’s proprietary play-level data (2020–21 college seasons), scoring every pass attempt.
  • Tracked difficulty year over year to identify NFL-ready quarterbacks — the model surfaced Joe Burrow as the clear #1 prospect and flagged Brock Purdy as pro-ready ahead of his NFL emergence.
